My poor little ottoman hasn't had much luck lately. Firstly coffee was spilt on it, then the upholstery cleaner made the stain worse when trying to clean it. So these days I stack books on the ottoman to hide the mess. Hopefully I can get it sorted.
So, what's on your "coffee table"? Books? Decorative items? Flowers? Nothing?
I love my stack of books and I'm trying to keep the pile from creeping too high. On the ottoman I've stacked some of my favourites design and photography books: domino (still love this book), Decorate by Holly Becker, food fashion friends by Fleur Wood, The Selby, 52 Suburbs, Marilyn Monroe by Bert Stern.
There are also a couple of recipe books: Kitchen Garden Companion by Stephanie Alexander and Hunger for Freedom by Anna Trapido.
And a stack of magazines: yen, Monster Children, Lula, Inside Out, Spaces by Frankie Magazine, madison, Elle Decor, Real Living and RUSSH.
Do you have any of these books? Any coffee table books you might recommend?

It's a beautiful ottoperson :) I live this look but don't even really have a coffee table, just side tables.
ReplyDeleteMy fave coffee table book would be the Louis Vuitton Art, Fashion, Architecture. It's stunning and the edition sold at LV stores has a beautiful Perspex cover :)
I'll have to check it out Sarah B! Would you happen to know how much the perspex edition retails for?
ReplyDeleteHi Viv
ReplyDeletemy coffee table stack (if i had one... working on it!) would definitely have to include: a) any book by sibella court, and b) any book by shannon fricke! sue
I like to keep the top of my glass coffee table clear with only a runner and candle holders on top, and use the shelf underneath for my current favourite reads which are Decorate, Design Sponge and Home Love. I also have 2 drawers full to the brim of magazines Real Living, Australian House and Garden and Delicious at my finger tips, but hidden away so nobody knows about my magazine obsession ;)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite coffee table books is Florence Broadhurst – her secret and extraordinary lives. I’ve got the original edition with the red and white floral cover, but the current edition has the Japanese Floral print – just like on your couch cushions Viv - but in hot pink. Packed with images of gorgeous Broadhurst prints it is such a stunning book, inside and out!
ReplyDeleteMy staple is Domino - you can't really fail with an all rounder! I also have some cook books, Inside Out and Yves Saint Laurent - Style Style Style, for other inspiration. Love your ottoman - even if it has some battle scars : )
ReplyDeletemy coffee table is often occupied by my snoozing kitten, audrey... she uses it as the perfect viewing platform to keep an eye on us so she knows where we are at all times!
