Fashionably Late Friday: A lazy Sunday

Sunday, May 29, 2011

I almost didn't post a Fashion Friday post this week at all. I really haven't had the motivation to dress up lately. Do you ever have those days/weeks?

This is one of my lazy outfits for lazy Sundays spent lazing around. The best way to spend a Sunday if you ask me.

How did you spend yours?

Top: A bargain store
Jeans: Phillip
Flats: Mimco

Trellis fabric

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

This fabric is screaming for a DIY project, cushions perhaps? To cover the seat of the dining chairs? A headboard?

I need to use it somewhere.

Meanwhile I'm loving these flowers on the dining table at the moment. I have totally forgotten the name of them though!

Decorating the walls

Monday, May 23, 2011

I enjoy seeing collections decorating walls like these colourful straw plates. "Art" for the walls really doesn't have to be expensive.

Fashion Friday: Wild horses

Friday, May 20, 2011

I never did venture outdoors wearing this outfit. I suppose I couldn't decide if it was my style. The leggings have become a staple of mine this season though and the shirt looks cute tucked into high-waisted pants.

How has your week been? I'm going away this weekend and looking forward to it! Especially since it's been a bit of a mad house around here lately. Nice to get away.

Enjoy your weekend x

Volker Haug Lighting

Thursday, May 19, 2011

I visited designEX a few weeks ago in Melbourne and whilst there I came across Melbourne lighting designer Volker Haug's work that I wanted to share with you. I had not seen his lighting prior to the show and chatted away with him for a long while about his various designs. This was definitely a passion of his!

At the exhibition he showcased his Jewellery collection, single pendant lights with 'U' shaped and 'S' shaped 'jewellery' components that can be mixed and matched to create custom shaped lighting.

His wall, pendant and table lights are quirky with an industrial edge. Here's a sample of them, visit his website to see more.

Still lusting...

Sunday, May 15, 2011

You know you are nearing winter when everyone around you starts catching colds. I have dodged it so far but it caught up with me this week!

So while I get my head together I wanted to show you what else I have been up to. I'm still writing over at lustable and still lusting after...

This gorgeous commissioned artwork by Michelle Armas. She shared progress photos with me and I'm so pleased with the result.

New online store Howkapow with their quirky and fun designs.

Stylist Sibella Court's online store The Society Inc with products you can purchase to replicate her signature style in your own home.

Rachel Castle's colourful online store. The cheery artwork is bound to make you smile.

Handmade lingerie from Hopeless Lingerie with old style aesthetics. Have a look at this season's launch photos over at Esme and the laneway.

Lauren Moffat's The Honeymooner's collection that will make you feel like hopping on a plane to France.

More saucy lingerie from Agent Provocateur. A girl can't have enough can she?

Dining chairs

Saturday, May 7, 2011

They are here and I'm so very happy with them. They contrast nicely with the dark wood dining table. I'm thinking of keeping the dining table, at least for a little while.

See here and here for ideas I've been mulling over for this space.

And PS. Spot the balloon. It's always a party at my place...

DIY Idea: Bookcase

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

I came across this idea via stylist Marie Nichol's blog and thought it was clever. I love coming across DIY ideas that are really simple to achieve. All you need for this bookcase are some Ikea PRÄNT boxes, some paint and bulldog clips.

Update on kitchen project

Monday, May 2, 2011

Hello to a brand new week. This one is going to be a busy one for me. Will it be for you too?

I am lucky to be attending some events as part of RAFW. A week of fashion - looking forward to it.

I was sent some new photos of the kitchen I have been helping out with. The metallic splashback has been fitted, the range hood and fridge are in place and lighting installed. Little updates but nice to see them come together. Next step - stools.
