Fashion Friday: 2010 and 2011
Friday, January 28, 2011

It has taken me a little while to look through 2010 for the year it was but now we are coming to the end of January I can't help but think of the year gone by.
2010 was a year I won't ever forget and because of it every day I am learning. Appreciating. Changing. Loving.
2010 was a blessing. 2011 looks to be fabulous. How is 2011 looking for you so far?
Have a great weekend, my friends, and if you are after a smile just throw on polka dots. Trust me.
Fashionably Late Friday: Happy Australia Day
Wednesday, January 26, 2011

One of the great things about sharing what I wear is looking back and reflecting on where I was, who I was with and what I was doing.
There are a lot of memories in these posts for me. They have encouraged me to have fun with the way I dress and to wear what makes me feel good.
Happy Australia Day. I hope you are feeling good today.
New painting
Monday, January 24, 2011

I have missed some fashion shots and I promise to make it up to you! Did you have a great weekend?
I am aiming to fill my home with Aboriginal and Australian artwork to hang especially in the bare hallway that leads to the bedrooms. I am dreaming of it looking like a gallery! I will get there slowly.
In the meantime, my latest painting is this one by artist Jeannie Pitjara. I have had it framed in a similar white frame to this painting. I love how it has brightened up a rather boring area of the combined dining / living area.
Flowers + Love
Thursday, January 20, 2011

My home is filled with flowers at the moment. It makes it feel more alive.
Is there anything better than a beautiful bunch of flowers teamed with, my personal favourite, word LOVE?
Toddler room

Robert's room is progressing! The bed is in place and it has new bedding. I am so glad his tepee still fits in the room given the bed looks massive in it.
I am still on the lookout for a lovely bed head. Any recommendations?
The Study
Thursday, January 13, 2011
I have been having a bit of fun with the study!
Once upon a time it was a boring box of a room with a rather interesting light shade:
Then, I painted this painting based on a fabric pattern I fell for and hung it.
About a year later I hung wallpaper, in the middle of the night, all by myself, and made a big mess everywhere! Mental note: next time enlist the help of someone else.
And now, through my adventures with lustable the study looks like this:

I promise to stop touching it for a little while now.

I do like a good before and after and this one will knock your socks off!
To a fun ping pong and darts room with wonderful results by hashai.Fashionably Late Friday: Black. White. Red.
Saturday, January 8, 2011

My mood has been calling for black and white lately but I couldn't resist adding a little colour with these red shoes for the shot. I have worn the shoes here before too.
I paired the dress with flats this week but think it might look nice with heels too for a summer evening out. An easy throw-it-on-and-rush-out-the-door dress that I like.
Have you got plans for the weekend? I would love to hear what you are up to.

I am a bit late with this thank you but it was lovely to be contacted by Singaporean Home & Decor magazine for this little mention.
Thank you for your kind words!
Pantone 2011 Colour of the Year
Tuesday, January 4, 2011

Honeysuckle.
Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.
I would mix this colour with greys, ivories or paler shades of pink and add little accents here and there.
How might you wear or live in this colour?
