On the wish list

Sunday, July 10, 2011

I sold my old bedroom furniture months ago including the dresser, side tables and bed. I have a new bed now and mirrored bedside tables but I haven't found the perfect dresser yet.

No, I lie.

I have found the perfect dresser but the one I covet (above) is a little (a lot) out of my price range and therefore sitting on my wish list until I find something more affordable. Don't you think it would look great in the room though? Feel free to tell me it won't work in the bedroom as it looks above so that I can scratch it off my wish list!

Speaking of wish lists, what is on yours at the moment?

  1. I wonder if you could DIY something similar. Not with mother of pearl inlay, obviously, but a stencil pattern and dry brush painting and some mother of pearl hardware. You could get a similar effect with just a little bit of sparkle.

  2. I love your bed (and your comforter)! Where is it from?

I do really like the dresser, but I feel like it might be quite busy for the otherwise calm room. Do you think bone inlay would be cheaper than mother of pearl inlay? It would look quite similar.

  3. Hi Viv, I don't comment much but I've been following your blog for a long time! And I adore your new bed.

Have you considered Matt Blatt? http://www.mattblatt.com.au/Cabinets-Buffets-Drawers/Badri-Bone-Inlay-Chest-of-Drawers.aspx?p8528c14. They got these in a couple of months ago, and although they aren't cheaper, they are cheaper!

  4. Anna!! Thank you so much. I hadn't seen those on the Matt Blatt site and I do like the various colours.

  5. Ooh I love the busy-ness Viv!! I saw these in Ruby Star Traders too and they're honestly to die for, real craftsmanship has gone into it. I can see it in your room with some beautiful crystalware (I'm thinking Jaime Hayon candy sets from baccarat, save up for them too!!), mirrored boxes on it and some delicate flowers! Save up them pennies girly! xxx

  6. Elissa - good idea if it could be pulled off well. I'm sure I would make a mess of the intricate design but would love to see if someone else gives it a go.

Phoebe - Thank you. The bed is from Domayne and the dark quilt is from lazybones (http://www.lazybones.com.au/).

Crystal (Textual Thoughts) - I'm going to refrain from googling the Jaime Hayon crystalware JUST in case I do fall in love!

  9. Your bedroom is just stunning Viv. It makes me want to redo our Bedroom. I have lots of timber in mine and I feel like it needs freshening up. Thanks for the inspiration.
