Have I told you lately how much I love you? When I was trying to decide whether to paint my bedroom wall a dark colour to compliment my new quilt I received mixed responses and also some suggestions. Here's a few:
I was also sent some images of my room with the wall photoshopped in different colours (thank you!).
The only thing stopping me for at least giving it a try is the amount of coats it will need if I decide to revert back to white if I change my mind.
I love photoshop and often do it to help me make decisions around the house! Seeing the photoshopped photos, I think the black/dark gray would be gorgeous! It'll make your silver tables come aliveeee...
I painted my bedroom wall black almost a year ago now. I have a painted white Indian screen as a bedhead. And it still thrills me every day. Go for it :)
I must have missed your beadspread post - wow I love it! I really like the very dark wall, or the plum/mauve colour in the last mockup. I'm not so keen on the neutrals, maybe because that's what I have and a can't wait to paint it! Even a dark charcoal would look fantastic :)
Love the black! Also love the bottom middle (grey/blue). If you do decide to paint it back, one coat of grey undercoat followed by 2 coats of white might be enough. Do it!
Benjamin Moore Aura in Deep Space for that dark charcoal look. I went from white to charcoal in one coat! ONE COAT! :)
Just follow their painting instructions and don't paint over areas you've already painted over - since it'll pick the paint back up. Happy painting! -Romeoandjewels
The wall behind our bed is charcoal grey, and I LOVE it. It is dark and sexy, and our bed (tufted ivory leather headboard) looks amazing against it. I say go for it if you really want to do it.
I love that bedspread...it's so pretty. I vote for the dark charcoal colour wall. The black might be too harsh, and if you don't like the charcoal, you have a great primer already on for a nice thick coat of black! Can't wait to see what you decide!
i love the dark, too. maybe not black-black, but a dark charcoal, like others have suggested. love how it makes everything - the bed, the tables, the lamps, the floor - stand out.
VIV!! You should LOVE your photoshop helper...visuals always close a deal for me...go with the black!! The combination looks amazing in the photo!! Good luck! From Bali With Love, Anna http://www.frombaliwithlove.com/
with the mock-ups, I actually like the dark color! I vote an almost-black charcoal as well. I painted a dark color back to white recently and it only took 2 coats but the edges where the hardest part!
We have charcoal grey behind our bed too. It's wonderful & i love it. The rest of a room is a lighter grey. However I like the idea of a black wall even more. If you want to go black then i think you should go black, don't compromise with yourself. Good luck!
(you're welcome!!) I'm happy to see them posted! Would you consider using a black wallpaper so that you don't need to paint the wall and in the case of changing your mind just remove it?
