I loved this rug presented last night with white stripes painted by a classmate. She told us it was easy to do. She marked 20 cm stripes, used a long piece of wood to clearly mark the line instead of masking tape because it would not stick to the rug and spray painted the stripes in white.
The rug will need a protective coating so the paint doesn't rub off over time but I thought this was such an easy DIY idea and the results are very effective. I am tempted to give it a try.

After seeing this, I may give my own jute rug a similar treatment. It's trimmed in navy blue already, so I'm thinking either navy or a contrasting red, would look good. Maybe red on one side and navy on the other? I'll keep you posted on what I end up doing
ReplyDeleteYou must have patience to complete a DIY like, but the finished product is very rewarding.
