A new bed has moved into Robert's room. I'm not used to seeing the room so.. full.
The cot is still in here because I still have a bit to do, including purchasing new sheets and making a headboard. I don't think he is ready to move into it just yet though. It is so big and he is so small and I'm worried about accidental falls. This is progress though..

Your styling is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it won't be long until Robert is fully ensconced in his 'big boy' bed and many nights of sweet sleep for all the family will ensue.

I had the same thought with our first. A big boy bed? But he's so tiny! It killed me.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's almost scary to see how quickly they grow into their big beds! If it helps, we used wings on our bed to avoid the fall-out-of-bed routine. They are essentially screens that fit between the box spring and mattress and fold up over both sides of the bed to prevent kids from falling out. They've been a lifesaver for us. :)
You have to make a bedhead decorated in pencils... HAVE TO :)
ReplyDeletetake the feet/wheels off the base of the bed and it'll be the perfect height! that's what we did with zak's ensemble (and now layla - this is her third night in her new "big bed" which is actually zak's as he got a new one for his birthday. and the baby will have layla's cot - muscial beds in our house!)
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see your headboard - we're making one for layla too. if it turns out how i drew it, it'll be so purdy! xx
I think a sheet turned on it's long side and tucked tight into the bed works well for wee ones - we have used the technique with both our boys and it has been fail safe - best le
ReplyDeleteWow, that bed is just like ours. I love ensembles!!

This is very exciting ... can't WAIT to see the final result, especially the bed head!!!
ReplyDeleteawww...i have to do the same for my little one...lot harder than i thought.
ReplyDeleteTry putting those wacky pool noodles on each edge underneath the fitted sheet. It's just enough of a bump to make it hard for them to roll over and it's not as visually obtrusive as rails. Once the bed is made you hardly notice them!
