I have been in a world of veneers lately helping with a kitchen project (not for my home). These are some of the veneer samples I have collected from New Age Veneers, a company I found through my friend Crystal. The veneer is for the island bench which will contrast nicely with the white cabinetry against the wall.
Stripey veneers are my favourites and the Antique Oak sample works best I think with the space and the paint colours being considered. Add to it a white benchtop, three Tolix stools under the bench and lighting above the island (right) and in the dining area (right).
Makes me wish I could redesign my kitchen.

Love love love it Viv. When I redesigned my own kitchen last year I used a walnut veneer (with the stripe placed horizontally) on my overhead cupboards and to contrast this, all others cupboards were done in 2 pac polyurethane in a dulux colour - Limed White (half strength). We kept the lines clean by ensuring the overhead cupboards were all in one clean line and concealed the rangehood to maintain that look. We then placed lighting under the overhead cupboards so it looks great when lit up! my dream kitchen!
ReplyDeleteLove the color contrast of the white and gray, and the stripey veneers. Hope your friend's kitchen project goes well, and I wish I could renovate my kitchen too!
ReplyDeleteLovely combination. I love that light fitting! Where is it from?
ReplyDeleteooh I am digging those light fittings Viv, espeeecially the textured one (a bit of tribal goin' on there). Absolute sass! and thanks for the linky-poo too!
ReplyDeleteLove the combinations, Viv, you've got a great eye. And coincidentally, I just got an email from Paypal introducing Lustable and you as one of their contributing editors! Congrats and keep up the good work x
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of New Age Veneers. I used them a lot in my previous job.
ReplyDeleteLoving this combination. It all feels relaxed and calming, beachy with an industrial edge. Nice work!
