After coming across this playroom, I kind of think Robbie needs an old school desk for his new bedroom.
I recently measured up his room and it is going to be really tight to fit the dresser, tepee, the chair I adore and a new king single size bed I have yet to purchase.
Something has to go and I don't want it to be the tepee if I can help it although it is the largest item in the room. Robbie loves it! We've worked out that the maximum number of people that can fit in it is four - Robbie, his 'yiayia' and 'papou' and I... just. Wish I had a photo to show you. It must have been the funniest sight.

ooh his yiayia and papou, how incredibly sweet Viv!
ReplyDeleteI love the fish pillow in that photo!!
ReplyDeleteI saw this and loved it too - saved it in my inspiration folder! My sister and I had a double school desk like that when we were little and spent endless hours at it colouring and pasting and playing schools. I love the windows in that room, and the colour of the walls and against the floor, all works so well with the pop of red bed.
ReplyDeleteI kept this in my inspiration folder too! I love the red bed and the fish pillow. In fact, I just love everything about this room, it's gorgeous. Can't wait to see Robbie's new bedroom! I have a 22 month old son and am also in the process of planning and buying for his new room so I get a real kick out of seeing how Robbie's room changes and progresses. It's great to see what other people do.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing room! You find the best things Viv. x
ReplyDeleteviv, are you Greek? My kids call their Grandparents Yiyia and Papou as well! I found a great vintage desk at a charity shop in the States with an awesome turquoise chair. It was so cheap, but it is so cool! I packed it in our shipment so hopefully it will be arriving soon. A desk is something Robbie will appreciate for years to come, so it's a great item to purchase!
ReplyDeleteTraveling Mama - My parents were born in Greece. I was born in Australia but I speak fluent Greek... sort of. I get a bit tongue tied at times.
ReplyDeleteLove it! It is making me nostalgic...my parents had a series of those school desks in their basement and a giant chalkboard so that it looked like a makeshift old schoolhouse. Many a summer day I played teacher with my siblings and neighborhood children held hostage whilst I doled out assignments and graded them; ah, sweet memories :).
ReplyDeletei swear sometimes we're on the same wavelength... do you know how many vintage school desks I've been outbid on on ebay? or have missed out on because they're all in VIC or WA? devastated. just found a white one at a store up the road, but a bit pricey... i also want to steal the bubble lamp in this picture - it's my fave style of them all x
ReplyDeleteOh I DIE for that desk....totally reminds me of one my dad had for us when we were little.
ReplyDeleteAnd can I just say, I am IN LOVE with your blog? Your style and decor, just fab, simply fab!
Ah, I remember my old school desk that my parents had in our apartment when I was growing up... Doing my homework in that little corner. Every time I see one of these at a thrift shop I smile, memories coming to the surface. I must have these for my future kids.
