Aboriginal art has long captured my interest and my wish is to fill my home with a collection of colourful aboriginal paintings on almost every wall. This piece is a new now hanging in my living room by artist Jeannie Mills Pwerl. Each stroke looks as though it is painted with a brush loaded with various colours at once and the colours that are used... I adore!

Lovely to see that Jen of MadeByGirl liked my painting so much she purchased one for herself too. Have a peek at her beautiful painting here.

It is gorgeous! I love the pop of color it brings to your room.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Such an amazing statement to a room! The colors and that pattern is simply brilliant! xo

Beautiful! It does add so much color! I love it. :-) .... The Post Office has managed to lose my aborignial art I had ordered weeks back. :-/ Needless to say, I'm not happy and keep following up with them to see if they have found it!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. I am looking for reputable places to buy Aboriginal art - any suggestions?

Oh no Lori I'm so sorry to hear that! Hope they find it for you soon.
ReplyDeleteCrystal you are a mind reader. I am planning on buying some beautiful pink ikat cushions from Table Tonic. They would be perfect.
How did you manage to find such a gorgeous Aboriginal painting?! I love it. Can I ask where you bought it from?
ReplyDeleteI love Aboriginal Art, but only have one small piece in my home which I picked up for $180 years ago at a local market. Not only was the price right but all proceeds from the sale went back to the artist and to their community. I think that's important and I love good karma!
Would you be interested in seeing it on my blog? I'll have to post it over the weekend :-)
Viv, It looks super pretty, how did you frame it?? did you send it to a professional framing company? or DIY? Let me know... :))))
ReplyDeleteThis one is from ebay but there are lots of galleries that sell her work.
ReplyDeleteJen I had it professionally framed. I thought it might look better than just the plain wrapped canvas to accentuate the white dots in the painting. Let me know what you end up doing with yours. I'd love to see pics.
Maria I'd love to see yours!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't very Australian to say this but...... I dont normally like Aboriginal art that much! That painting that you have scored though - it is absolutely gorgeous. Those colours!!! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat piece is unusual with the pinky tones, definately a one off find. I have bought a few pieces from aboriginal artists in WA (the first I could only afford prints and framed them myself, but also have an original on canvass a friend framed for me). They're all great to look at!
ReplyDeleteIt does look beautiful, very much. Every stroke, every color is just so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWell done! It gives a positive aura in your living room. It is so attractive and I am sure everyone who enters your living room is going to look at that wonderful art work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love the colors as well. Very happy and exotic. Would work great in any room of the house. Saw Jen's post too. Congrats on the mention! :)
